OUR ORIGINS
Colonial Collections was born in 1990 after the owners gave up on their corporate lives to pursue something they truly loved. Their story starts when they lived in the beautiful landscapes of Kodaikanal and developed an appreciation for colonial style furniture. It started from their garage, where Nilofer began trading and restoring vintage objects and antiques. She spent days finding inspiration from collectors’ items, reviewing materials and engaging with aesthetic ideas.
This gradually led to a brand that was known for its quality. Today, Colonial Collections features hand-crafted, timeless furniture created to enrich spaces.
HOW TO WORK WITH US
Every piece of furniture we make is made with passion. When you come to us, our team first begins with understanding the needs of your space along with your persona. This leads to the creation of furniture that truly reflects your taste. We analyze your space and take proper site markings to create furniture that makes appropriate use of the area, and also leaves enough of it for movement. Our skilled karigars work with dedication after mindful selection of materials.
During the various stages in the making of your furniture, you play an important role too. We invite you to visit our production units and witness your piece evolve from the drawing board to finish. Your inputs are respected in this journey of co-creativity.

We are proud to be ‘MADE IN INDIA’. Our furniture denotes true quality and craftsmanship. Since inception, our products are at par with international standards as we devote ample time and effort in creating each piece. Currently spread over 10,000 square feet of a centralized production unit in Mumbai, our products are locally sourced, but globally known. Along the way, furniture from Colonial Collections has subtly defined spaces across residential, corporate, hospitality and government sectors.
